Kia Carens Launched At INR 8.99 Lakh in India

Kia’s made-in-India people mover, Carens has finally been launched. Starting at INR 8.99 lakh, the Carens has not just shaken up the MPV segment, but also other compact and mid-size SUVs! The Carens has already received over 20,000 bookings in India and is racing to double that number. It is available in 5 trims namely Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus with the prices topping out at INR 16.99 lakhs.The Carens’ dynamic and bold stance gives it an SUV-like road presence while incorporating versatility in its interior design. The exterior of the Kia Carens embodies the company's latest design philosophy – 'Opposites United.' It measures 4,540mm in length, 1,800mm in width, and 1,708mm in height. It has a class-leading wheelbase of 2780mm.The Carens MPV will be a feature-loaded offering with several first-in-class features. The upcoming MPV will get variant-specific features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 64-colour ambient cabin lighting, an air purifier, full leatherette seats, an 8-speaker BOSE sound system, a cooled wireless charger, ventilated seats, rain-sensing wipers, 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, keyless entry and go, multiple drive modes – Normal, Eco and Sport (DCT, AT only), rear washer and wiper, a 12.5-inch LCD instrument cluster- and six airbags, ABS, ESC, all-wheel disc brakes, rear parking sensors, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The latter comes standard across all trims.The Carens will be offered in petrol and diesel powertrains combined with multiple transmission options, including the 7DCT and 6MT/AT. The petrol engine options will include a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder, a naturally aspirated unit that produces 115hp and 144Nm, and a 1.4-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged unit that makes 140hp and 242Nm. On the other hand, the diesel engine will be a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder unit that develops 115hp and 250Nm. The Carens is available in 8 colors including Imperial Blue, Moss Brown, Sparkling Silver, Intense Red, Aurora Black Pearl, Gravity Grey, Glacier White Pearl, and Clear White.
